Operations have returned to normal, according to a United Airlines spokesperson, after a technology outage caused significant delays and cancellations early Saturday morning at O'Hare International Airport and other locations. The issue, which began in the pre-dawn hours, temporarily grounded aircraft and left passengers waiting at gates. The airline did not specify the exact cause of the glitch but confirmed that its systems were fully restored by mid-morning. Travelers at O'Hare reported long lines at check-in counters and confusion as flight boards flickered with delays. A spokesperson apologized for the inconvenience and said the company is reviewing what went wrong to prevent a repeat. While most flights resumed by late morning, some residual delays lingered into the afternoon as crews and planes were repositioned. United urged affected passengers to check their flight status online before heading to the airport. The outage did not appear to be linked to any external cyber threat, the airline noted.
