Orange County, FL - Orange County is rolling out new digital tools to streamline its permitting process, aiming to cut wait times and improve customer service for developers and residents. The latest upgrade includes FastQ, a custom appointment scheduling system built by the county's Development Services team. FastQ replaces older booking methods, letting users reserve time slots with permitting staff more easily.
Alongside FastQ, the county has introduced an AI-powered customer support feature. This virtual assistant can answer common questions about permits, fees, and application status without requiring a phone call or in-person visit. Officials say the goal is to reduce bottlenecks that have long frustrated builders and homeowners.
The changes come as Orange County continues to see rapid growth, with more construction projects needing faster approvals. By automating routine tasks, staff can focus on complex cases. Early feedback suggests shorter lobby wait times and fewer missed connections. The system is available online, and the county plans to add more features later this year based on user input.
