Direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology provider Lilac Solutions has announced the launch of its fifth-generation ion exchange (IX) technology, marking a significant advancement in lithium extraction methods. This new generation of technology promises to enhance both performance and cost-effectiveness in the lithium extraction process.
The Gen 5 Lilac IX technology boasts several key improvements, including increased IX productivity and durability. Additionally, it enhances the quality of the eluate, which is crucial for producing high-purity lithium. Another notable feature is the simplification of brine pretreatment processes, making the overall extraction method more efficient.
One of the standout capabilities of the IX system is its ability to facilitate the passage of particles that are 70 times larger than those manageable by previous technologies. This breakthrough could potentially revolutionize the lithium extraction industry, allowing for more effective and sustainable practices in meeting the growing demand for lithium in electric vehicle batteries and other applications.
