Dell Technologies has secured a central position in Honeywell's newly launched Forge Cognition platform, marking another step in the company's push into industrial artificial intelligence infrastructure. Honeywell developed the platform alongside Dell and NVIDIA to support building and industrial automation workloads that run across both data center and edge environments.
The collaboration places Dell hardware at the foundation of a system designed to bring agentic AI and digital twin technology into physical operations. Early pilots of Forge Cognition are already active at several major global facilities, where the platform is being tested on real production and building management tasks. These trials aim to show how AI agents can monitor equipment, predict maintenance needs, and adjust operations without constant human input.
For Dell, the partnership reinforces its strategy of supplying the computing backbone for AI deployments beyond traditional cloud settings. Industrial sites often require rugged, low latency infrastructure that can process data close to where it is generated, and that requirement fits the company's server and edge portfolio.
Honeywell's decision to work with Dell and NVIDIA also signals growing competition among hardware vendors to anchor the next wave of AI adoption in factories, warehouses, and commercial buildings. As pilot programs expand, Dell's role in Forge Cognition could serve as a reference point for similar industrial AI projects in the months ahead.
